After a week of Tumblr-ing in earnest, I think I’m still in the youthful experimentation phase, playing with layouts and now dabbling in a bit of reblogging by passing along some juicy Pacific Rim fan art. Those of you who’ve early-adopted my little Tumblr may have seen a lot of these reblogged items already, but bear with me - I’ll have more monsters for you tomorrow. And thanks to everyone for the virtua-welcome!
Who killed Cock Robin?
I, said the Sparrow.
With my bow and arrow,
I killed Cock Robin.
The first 12 pages of my 24 Hour Comics Day story. I only got 60% of it finished, so I’ll have to complete the last 9-10 pages during the week…
Working on spacesuit designs for a comic, and watching “Quatermass and the Pit.” Naturally, I had to draw some space crickets!
We’re canceling our cable service this week, but we were able to catch the season premiere of Face Off first. Here’s my take on this week’s challenge - a set of five fantasy characters (ogre, troll, pixie, faun, and witch) - with an elemental theme to tie them together.
A Pacific Rim-style anti-kaiju robot created for a drawing challenge at my old school. Since we’re all supposed to represent for our homeland, here’s my stab at a typically half-assed British Jaeger.
In the second pic, we see that stretching out the legs a bit gives this guy more orthodox Jaeger proportions. But now he looks too cool!
It’s kaiju time again! Here are Pokemon-style powerups of the previous monster duo. Kali-Yuga gets a tougher-looking carapace and big crab claws, while Four-Jaw is pretty much just a beefier version of Rat-Catcher with a bigger, clampier head.
The baby Kaiju was my favourite part of Pacific Rim!
screw it I’m posting this for real
